An introduction to the Fogo Foundation’s mission, priorities, and leadership in advancing the greatest onchain experience.
The vision for the Fogo network is clear: to offer the greatest onchain trading experience. The launch of the Fogo Foundation marks a major step toward realizing that vision.
This post outlines the mission of the Foundation, introduces its board, and explains how it will help guide Fogo’s growth into a durable and decentralized ecosystem.
Advancing Fogo’s vision
Fogo is built by traders, for traders. The technology is designed for speed, execution, and market-grade performance — with the flexibility and composability of the onchain world.
The Fogo Foundation has been established as an independent entity with a focused and purpose driven mandate: to steward the ecosystem and support Fogo as a long-lasting public good. Its role is to ensure that it’s resources are used effectively, whether by managing it’s treasury, supporting developers, or navigating the operation hurdles that come with building at scale.
The Foundation’s early priorities are to:
Support the community of traders and builders who are expanding the ecosystem with tools, infrastructure, and applications.
Grow awareness and participation by educating new members.
Provide an initial governance framework that is fast and coordinated in the early years, avoiding the stalls that can come from premature decentralization while laying the groundwork for Fogo to mature
Independent from any single company or team, the Foundation exists to anchor the ecosystem without controlling it.
The Team
Fogo is an idea born from traders. The tech is built by traders. And the products that will be built atop the fastest SVM are for traders.
The Fogo Foundation is no different.
James and Martine bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that prepares them to run a world-class Foundation for a world-class blockchain ecosystem.
James Reilly: Head of the Fogo Foundation

James runs the Fogo Foundation from the Cayman Islands and has the résumé of a markets lifer. Two decades on trading desks, in boardrooms, and at the helm of major platforms give him the firepower to steward a world-class foundation.
He’s been CEO of Currenex, Head of Capital Markets at Capitolis, and a partner at Cantor Fitzgerald, where he was head of FX and Macro Trading. Before that, he co-launched Morgan Stanley’s Global FX Prime Brokerage business and spent a decade cutting his teeth in derivatives at JPMorgan. In short: if it touched markets, James has done it.
He also studied English and American Literature at NYU, so he can quote Hemingway while managing a treasury. And yes, he’s bald - which, in crypto, counts as alpha.
Martine Bond: Director, Fogo Foundation

The name’s Bond, Martine Bond (sorry, Martine, we know you’ve heard that 1,000 times before).
Martine brings 25 years at the epicenter of global markets. From Goldman to Morgan Stanley to over a decade at State Street, she’s shaped electronic trading, run major businesses, and sat on boards across three continents. Most recently, she served as EVP and Head of State Street Global Markets for EMEA, steering strategy and execution for one of the world’s largest custodians.
She pairs Wall Street credibility with board-level governance chops, balancing regulation, strategy, and speed in a way few can. At Clarkson she pushed forward electronic trading and risk management, proving her ability to grow tech businesses without losing sight of market realities.
Educated in Brisbane, she brings both Aussie grit and global perspective - exactly what it takes to ensure the Fogo Foundation has the staying power to go the distance.
